Read their cover letter:

“Our theme was: how does physics impact daily life? This fascinating question instantly sparked our curiosity; we wanted to choose a daily task that was seemingly simple but still rich in physics and reflected the complexity of life. In our video, we explain how making a cup of tea (a task that over 75% of Brits do daily) is only possible through physics. We dive into the key processes of making a cup of tea, such as the transference of electrical energy into heat; convection currents created by moving air as well as thermal conduction. By researching and using our prior knowledge, we were able to combine our ideas so we could make sense of our world and how humans have developed so much over the past century. Finally, we illustrate how physics operates quietly in the background of our everyday tasks and goes unnoticed until now.”
